Union Gospel Mission

Problem

Union Gospel Mission only known for their homeless shelter on Pioneer Square was looking for a way to expand their messaging and showcase their breadth of services. Their website wasn’t mobile-friendly creating a roadblock for users that wanted to donate on the go.

GOALS

  • Increase donations

  • Highlight the stories of the members that have done their program

  • Refine their messaging highlighting the 360 solutions

Solution

Focus on telling the mission and set of services they offered on the homepage in an introductory way, without removing the shelter reputation value that UGM currently have.  Create assets and sections that showcase the value of the donations and where the money is going. To have a consistent flow of updated content a blog and a events feed were added to the website. Also, the website site has custom and flexible template to allow UGM to create unique pages when needed.

What I did

At the time of this project I was working as a Project Manager, I build a great relationship with the client to discuss their goals and how we were going to get there. Also, collaborated with the lead designer in the iteration of wireframes and final designs until final approval from the client. Then managed the timeline and development team to complete the project on time. Had weekly meetings with the client to showcase progress and present website updates.

What I learned

One of the things I will update from this project is the information architecture the Contact and Stay Connected page can become confusing for the users.
