HOLY NAMES ACADEMY - HIGH SCHOOL

Problem

Holy Names Academy website lacks content organization making it hard for its users to find important content easier. The layout design is outdated and doesn’t reflect the bright student life the academy is known for.

GOALS

  • Increase user engagement with relevant content

  • Grow number of applicants by having more parents reaching out and learning about the school

  • Add more visuals with icons and big colorful images

Solution

To start I break down the content and restructure it making sure it aligns with the users' goals. For example,  parents wanted to learn more about the admission process and success of their alumnae so all of that information is now in one place. Then we worked on the design were layouts were bright and cheerful. I focus on having reusable components that will give the website admin the flexibility to create custom pages without looking out of place.

What I did

Build a relationship with the client to understand their business and “the why” they do things the way they do. Restructure the information architecture, created user flows and collaborated with the designer during the wireframe phase to ensure the use of multiple components. Documented all the information gathered throughout the project in a way that all the team members can understand and package up the design assets for the development team.

What I learned

That projects with a small budget and a big scope are possible. Prioritize features, consult with the client of features that can be done after launch (get another contract, possible a monthly retainer) and create flexible layouts that can be used for multiple things and still being able to look on brand.
