Dragon Bicycles

Problem

Dragon Bicycle has a new way to sell bikes directly to consumers. High-quality bikes custom build to the consumer measurements at an affordable price. With no market or brand awareness introducing a new way to way bicycles are quite a challenge. Dragon’s online shopping experience needs to be simple and able to grab all the user data without overwhelming the user and losing them in the process.

GOALS

  • Disrupt the market by introducing a new way of buying bikes

  • Show credibility

  • Sell bikes

Solution

Simple and informative content with big visuals. The homepage plays the role of telling the user very fast what this new bike is all about. The shopping experience is an interactive form that helps reduce anxiety and it feels like the user is building its own bike. The other pages include a big statement that conveys the brand mission and product satisfaction.

What I did

Met with the client to understand his business, the why and who are they targeting. Collaborated with the designer during the wireframe session, coming up with the shopping experience and final designs. Documented our progress and present it to the development and marketing team.

What I learned

The importance of a scalable website. Weeks after working on this project it came to mind, what would happen if they introduce a new product? Although the business model includes only one product made of two different materials, we didn’t include a “what-if” in the design to make it scalable when the business grows. When they decide to add another product the shopping experience will need to get updated. This is something I wish I have thought about it before and include it on the design and website functionality.
